How time flies… the holidays are here and in 2 more weeks we will be in 2015.
I did an exercise last year which was very powerful and now I continue to do it. Here is the exercise I wanted to share with you:
1) Go through all the personal and professional actions you implemented this past year that didn’t work and why?
ie.
– Tried a new diet
– Worked out for 2 weeks
– Added a new service to my company
– Tried to work in another niche
I think you get the point.
2) Go through all the personal and professional actions you implemented this past year that did work and why?
ie.
– Tried a new diet and lost 20lbs
– Started walking for 20min each day
– Added a new service to my company
– Tried to work in another niche
This is a great exercise to reflect on your growth as well to make sure you can evaluate realistically without rationalizing what has happened. If you can provide yourself honest constructive feedback your growth in the new year will be increased from your previous year.
If you find that you are not able to be honest with yourself, do this exercise with someone you trust to be honest with you. There is nothing worse then telling yourself a story how it wasn’t that bad. I have personally learned if I have failed at something I needed to be honest with myself why it didn’t work; wrong expectation, over stretched myself, not working with the right team…etc. Remember life is about the journey, if you don’t learn from your experiences you have then you will continue to experience them until you do learn which can be expensive.
One of my passions have always been to help people and in 2015 I want to help as many people as I can be successful personally and professionally. That is why I’m excited to be working on a new project for 2015 that will help people in these areas “You, Your Market, Your Marketing, Your People and Your Systems”.
